WATERSTRUCK BRICKS

What are waterstruck bricks?

Wet clay is pressed into individual moulds moistened with water so the clay releases cleanly. Excess clay is struck off the top, then the bricks are dried and fired. The water release leaves a smooth, natural texture that is difficult to achieve by other methods, and each brick carries its own “water imprint”. Compared with wirecut bricks, the look is less uniform; compared with sandstruck bricks, the face is cleaner and less grainy. Many waterstruck bricks are made without holes or frogs for a solid brick.

Common Questions About

Waterstruck Bricks

Colours, sizes and formats

You can specify waterstruck bricks in black, red, cream/white, brown, buff, yellow, grey and more.

Standard UK metric bricks in our range include 215 × 103 × 65 mm on selected products.

We also supply European DNF format at 228 × 108 × 54 mm. For long, design-led coursing, choose our linear long-format bricks for an elongated aesthetic with refined shadow lines.

Why specify waterstruck bricks?

The surface structure created by water gives façades personality and depth while keeping lines clean and refined.

The clay itself matters: our Scandinavian clay offers the fine particles and consistency that designers rely on for repeatable results.

With constant stock and UK-wide supply, you can keep programmes moving while maintaining the design intent.

Typical applications

Waterstruck bricks suit external façades, apartment schemes, offices and bespoke homes, and they also work well for interior feature walls.

Their adaptable look complements modern and classic settings, helping architects and developers specify striking elevations with reliable performance.

If you are matching reclaimed character or creating a clean contemporary line, waterstruck bricks give you the flexibility to do both.

Not just any brick.
